July 30, 2008 – 10:45 pmMateo got his first “big boy” haircut (I’ve trimmed it a few times but it needed a real cut). Language explosion
July 8, 2008 – 1:11 amMateo will pretty much say the last word of everything I say. I’m surprised though on the words he picks up and uses correctly in the right context though. For example I had his window open and the wind blew his clock down. He went over and picked it up and turned it over and saw the battery in the back and exclaimed “bah-rey” - I was impressed he knew the word for it! I guess he’s seen me change the batteries in his toys a dozen times and just picked it up. He’s so smart!
Mateo’s new spoken words: bathtub, outside, bush, hose, pinecone, grandpa, Suzy (my grandparent’s dog), go, stop, slide, swing, milk, cup, battery, crab, okie dokie (sounds like doh-tee dod-tee), nose, eyes, ear (eee-ah - he sounds southern), cheeks, neck, net, basket
Those are just off the top of my head, I’m forgetting a bunch - there are so many now I can’t keep track!
He couldn’t say clock but he says “tick tock” (sound more like “tee tah” though), he says that for a watch too.
Mateo’s new spoken Spanish words: azul (blue), uva (grapes)
No new signs, he still uses the ones he knows a lot though.
